TeraTeam UK Teradata DBA Definition

term: Resource Usage (ResUsage)

Resource Usage (ResUsage) data - Resource usage and performance data that is
stored in database tables for subsequent analysis, which may help to identify
trends and help tune the system.

The other main source of Performance data is DBQL. The information that a properly set up DBQL system can supply is of great use when analysing system and query performance. TeraTeam UK are experts in the implementation of DBQL and the housekeeping of associated data. DBQL data is invaluable in analysing performance issues and TeraTeam strongly recommend that it is always implemented on any Teradata System.

These systems are components of an overall Performance Monitoring system that should include alerting and reporting tools, DBQL, ResUsage, Capacity Management and Housekeeping tools.
