Meet the Company Directors


Chris Tansey

Chris Tansey

Chris has administered Teradata Systems for 6 years.

Prior technical experience includes C++ and COBOL programming. He specialises in Teradata systems monitoring, SQL Tuning and enhancement. Additional expertise includes Stored Procedure coding, Metadata architecture and systems development and reporting as well as IBM Mainframe scheduling. In addition he is highly adept at the creation and documentation of processes and procedures associated with reporting and monitoring systems. Chris is a Certified Teradata Master.

Outside interests range from Motorcycles and Karting to computing and producing family movies. Married with one son, it was Chris's imagination that initially envisaged the formation of TeraTeamUK.

Clive Hampton

Clive Hampton

Clive has provided technical support on Teradata systems for 14 years having previously gained 4 years experience as a DB2 Database Administrator.

He has BSc Honours degree in Pure Mathematics and his early IT experience includes Cobol development work in South Africa and Kuwait.

Clive's early Teradata experience involved application development using IBM and Unix clients, but latterly has been in Database Administration, being responsible for hardware and software upgrades and performing system monitoring, capacity planning and related software development to automate these processes.

In the last 2 years Clive has developed training courses in SQL and Query Tuning and trained over 200 Business Users in the UK, Spain and Kenya. Clive is a Certified Teradata Master.

Married with 2 grown up children, Clive enjoys spending his holidays visiting his daughter and granddaughter in New Zealand, and playing golf whenever he has the time.

Paul Groves

Paul Groves

Paul graduated from the University of Cambridge UK in 1985 with a Masters degree in Maths and Computer Science.

He has 23 years experience in computing, covering software engineering, networking and mid-range systems administration. Before his current specialisation in Teradata Database Administration, Paul was involved in the development and support of firewalls, internet facing web proxies and email solutions.

He has been a Teradata DBA for the last six years, and played a key part in the design and implementation of TASM in 2006. In his current post he has led the capacity management initiative and assisted Barclays with the transfer of its Data Warehouse operations from the UK to Singapore. Paul gained certification as a Certified Teradata Master in February 2007 and is an ITIL practitioner in Capacity Management.

His specialities are Teradata administration and performance optimisation, Unix administration and scripting, Firewalls, network security and Internet email and application proxies.

Paul lives in the UK with his wife and daughter, who kindly tolerate his interest in hill walking and rambling in the mountains of Britain.

Craig Drinkall

Craig Drinkall

Craig is an Honours Graduate in Business Information Technology and has worked with Teradata systems for over 5 years, firstly as a Mainframe / Unix ETL developer and then as a database administrator.

His prior IT experience includes Visual Basic, PHP and Delphi along with MySQL and Oracle RDBMSs.

Craig is a Certified Teradata Master and specialises in SQL scripting and optimisation, ETL tools, and performance monitoring and tuning. In addition, he is highly proficient in Metadata architecture development, and in the identification, implementation and documentation of processes and procedures used for systems monitoring and reporting as well as Order, Incident and Problem management.

Away from the office Craig’s interests include playing the drums in local bands, keeping fit, travelling and generally enjoying family life.
